100's Day Celebration!

Can you believe we have made it to 100 days of school? Wow! Time is going way too fast!

Today, we wrote letters about what we would look like or want to be like when we are 100 years old.

Lydia would like to have grand children!

Isaac would like to have all of his teeth and move to West Virginia!

We took some time to share what we wrote!

Here is what we look like now and what we think we would look like when we are 100!

We also were able to sort our 100 things to see how many different groups you can make with 100 objects.

We had paper clips, hearts, cereal, marshmallows...

Fruit snacks in 2 groups of 50!

Q-tips

Some of us had really big objects to sort.

4 groups of 25!

It was great to see all the different items each student brought in to sort! We had a great day!

Alward superfans visit Jamestown! We cheered for each other to show good sportsmanship! Click on the video to see what it was like in our halls!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We had a great Valentine's Party last Thursday! Here is one of the games we played!

We had to take a straw, put a Q-tip in the bottom, then try and shoot it into the heart-shaped bucket on the floor. This signified cupid's arrow:)

Our craft was awesome! We made a heart chain with pipe cleaners!

We also had a blast doing a Valentine walk, just like a cake walk.

Then it came time to eat!

We loved our snacks!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Non-Fiction Website

Great Non-Fiction Reading Website!

(click here to take you to the site)

Here is a great website for first graders! The site has a lot of non-fiction books where students can listen and read them. As you know, we have been reading a lot of non-fiction books in our classroom, so here is a way for students to continue their learning at home. If you click on the "read the story" tab, it will take you right to a book where students can either read on their own or listen to someone read it to them. If you click on the "more issues" tab, there will a ton of other magazines for students to choose from. Besides, are you ever running out of fun and engaging ideas for your first grader to do at home? during the winter? Well, here you go!
