Thanksgiving Fun!
We were so excited for Thanksgiving! Today we made turkeys that helped us remember the sounds of the long vowels! |
It was hard work cutting and gluing all the feathers on. |
We helped each other! |
Here is our final product! Gobble Gobble! |
Some turkeys were disguised as trees and even super heros! |
Anthony's turkey was the Grinch:) |
It was fun to share what we wrote about our turkeys! |

Spider Math
Do you think Spiders are cool or creepy?
We found out what our class thinks.... We collected data by asking the question, "Do you think Spiders are creepy or cool?"
We made tally marks to record our data.
Then we made a pie graph to show our results! Lydia's graph shows more people thought spiders were creepy! |
Isaac's results show that spiders are cool! |
Everyone that Brady asked thought that spiders were cool! |
We can make a pie graph to show data we have collected! |
Halloween Fun!
Happy Halloween from Jamestown!
We started the party with a Parade! |
There were lots of different Halloween costumes.....the 4th graders loved our costumes. |
We felt so special showing off our costumes! |
One of our games was Halloween BINGO! |
Look at all that candy corn:) |
We even had a marshmallow race. |
Our craft was a ghost. We loved making them and even playing with them during indoor recess! |
Reiel and her ghost! |
Oops! |
Lydia's ghost! |
Anthony in his batman costume with his batman moves! |
We even had food! The cupcakes and carmel apples were a hit! We had a goody bag of great candy too! |
Happy Halloween! |
Thank you parents for all of your help with the party, we had a great time! |
We can't wait to go trick or treating tonight! |

Handwriting Resources
Does your first grader struggle with handwriting? If so, here are some resources for you!
Capital Letters Link
Lowercase Letters Link
These two papers will explain how to make all the letters. I would encourage you to practice writing these with your child. You could even make this exciting by writing the letters in shaving cream, paint in a zip lock bag, with special markers or in rice!!! Who would love to write their letters in these special ways??

Field Trip Fun!
We had such a great time at DeGraaf Nature Center! |
There were little seeds on these plants that popped when we touched them! |
The sun even came out for awhile. |
We learned about poison ivy and how to tell what this plant looks like so we can stay far away.......! |
Even some vines are poisonous. If it's hairy, it's scary! |
We loved looking at the snake. |
Our turtle friend wanted to come out and play. |
We learned that owls spit out the bones in the food that they eat......yuck! |
We were able to touch many animals! This bunny was SO soft! |
Yes, that's a turtle! |
The Hudsonville Nature Center was so beautiful! We found huge leaves! |
We made it to the look out deck. |
Silly faces! |
The tree behind is a memorial for Mr. Joel's (our custodian) father! |
WE had a great time on our first field trip! |
